In line with the International Academic Forum’s (IAFOR) mission of interdisciplinarity, we successfully held one of our most popular interdisciplinary conferences in Tokyo. The 12th Asian Conference on Education and International Development (ACEID2026) took place alongside The 16th Asian Conference on Psychology and Behavioural Science (ACP2026) and The 12th Asian Conference on Gerontology and Aging (AGen2026) from March 22-27, 2026. Altogether, the joint conferences welcomed over 860 delegates from 68 countries from around the world.

Over 90% of delegates hold postgraduate degrees, with over half employed as university faculty (56%). The event boasts strong regional and global engagement, as seen in the diaspora of its delegates. Last year's largest delegate groups came from Taiwan (11%), the United States (11%), Japan (10%), and Singapore (8%).
While delegates primarily attend IAFOR conferences to present their latest research, their conference feedback reveals a wide range of motivational aspects which encourage attendance in both the plenary and parallel sessions.
Participants reported being motivated by the opportunity to network with and receive feedback from scholars and industry professionals from diverse backgrounds, engaging with leading plenary speakers who are active in global research, and the ability to submit to open access publishing opportunities.

Delegate Satisfaction at a Glance
Data in the following sections are based on the 2026 Post-Conference Survey Data that was collected from 41 respondents out of 890 delegates within 30 days of the conclusion of the event.

International, intercultural, and interdisciplinary dialogue lies at the heart of our Forum. ACP provides multiple opportunities for academics to expand their personal and professional networks, as well as engage with local culture.

IAFOR is a platform for international, intercultural, and interdisciplinary collaborations, and 80 per cent of our respondents found the opportunities to connect with fellow participants during the conference to be a good networking opportunity. However, 78 per cent of delegates who attended the conference onsite found the networking experience to be somewhat effective and suggested that there is room for improvement, a response we will greatly consider when planning future networking sessions for onsite delegates. Our conference’s hospitality and ambience were deemed pleasant and inviting, averaging a 4.12 out of 5 rating from the respondents.
Learn from Experts in Your Field
The event performed well in terms of academic content delivery, receiving an overall score of 4 out of 5. The plenary sessions and featured presentations were found to be engaging, with an overall satisfaction rate of 83 per cent. As for delegates’ satisfaction rate regarding parallel presentations, 83 per cent of the respondents found the parallel presentations to be well-prepared and informative.
Receive Support from Submission to Presentation
Delegates who attended the 2026 event found the overall pre-conference communication and support helpful. They reported receiving useful information from IAFOR prior to joining the conference, rating the information provided on the website at 4.39 out of 5. The submission system was also found to be easy to use by 88 per cent of the respondents. Our email communication was deemed timely and clear, receiving an overall score of 89 per cent. The registration system was found to be straightforward and easy by over 89 per cent of the respondents.
Would Delegates Recommend the Conference?
“It was an outstanding experience. I learned effective teaching methodologies, how to conduct educational research, and ways to improve educational standards. The conference also provided valuable insights into integrating technology and AI into education and classroom practices. In particular, I gained meaningful knowledge about teaching girls in traditional Pukhtoon society, which is highly relevant to my professional context. I am highly motivated to continue my professional development and would like to participate in IAFOR conferences once or twice each year in the future.”

These include key themes and takeaways, referencing programme(s), speakers, and attendees, which are curated and archived for both those who attended the event and those who did not to stay abreast of many of the developments and insights provided by the conference and the collective intelligence of its participants. The reports are not meant to be, and indeed cannot be, exhaustive, and yet they aim to make a significant intellectual contribution drawn from the unique collaborative and contrastive space of IAFOR events.
